VIC FALLS & HWANGE NATIONAL PARK WITH THE FAMILY
What better way to explore the wildlife rich and adventure packed Zimbabwe than with light aircrafts transporting the entire family across these incredible plains?
The first stop is Hwange National Park where you’ll stay on the beautiful Ngamo Plains in a unit especially adapted for families. At 14500sqkm, Hwange National Park is one of Africa’s great parks and home to 100 species of mammals and nearly 400 species of birds. Hwange is elephant country and much of the game viewing relates to magnificent opportunities to view these, the largest land mammals, in a completely wild state.
The lodge itself is in an exclusive 5000-acre portion of the Ngamo forest, where you can go on beautiful guided walks with fully licensed rangers that will teach you and the kids incredible lessons about the bush. Every day will be filled with game drives, night drives and afternoons spent beside the waterhole at the camp.
Get the children involved and interested in the conservation on one of the reserve’s pump runs and drive from pan to pan, marveling at the African wildlife. Sundowners in the wild, dinner under the stars and the most impressive sunrises will fill their eyes with wonder.
After a good coting of dust in the bush it’s time for the Victoria Falls – the adventure capital of Africa. Yet you will escape the bustling crowds of the falls by staying 10k downstream at the peaceful Batoka Gorge – 200m above the crashing Zambezi River. A complimentary shuttle transports you to the Vic Falls.
The kids will absolutely the love the elephant back safaris and helicopter rides planned for this part of the trip. Get up close to the crashing Zambezi on cruises or indulge in the many other adventure activities on offer.
For the quieter at heart, there’s a tour of the falls, school tour and visit to the local village. Watch a traditional dance display or walk along the gorge back the lodge before sundowners with one of the best views in southern Africa or a sunset cruise on the quieter part of the Zambezi.
