It can be a daunting task, searching for the perfect holiday in Africa. A good place to start would be the capital – the adventure capital, that it. This fly-in safari will bring you to the mighty Victoria Falls, but also give you the opportunity to see the incredible Zambezi National Park and one of Zimbabwe’s finest – Hwange National Park.

The Victoria Falls, also known as “The smoke that thunders” remains one of the most spectacular natural wonders in the world. Enjoy a helicopter flip or elephant back safari after a tour of this incredible sheet of falling water. Take a tour of the rainforest and marvel at this immense natural beauty.

Experience all of this excitement without staying in the bustle. Your luxury tented camp is situated away from the Vic Falls on the banks of the Zambezi River and inside the iconic Zambezi National Park. Here you can indulge in game drives and riverside picnics to your heart’s content or go canoeing, fishing, sundowner cruise at the camp, and a village visit to Sidobe. The dinner under the stars is a definite highlight.

Your next stop is Hwange National Park, one of the greatest parks of Zimbabwe where your lodge is strategically placed to explore the remote and unspoiled southeastern portion of the park. Game drives take you from Pan to Pan, weaving your way between the throngs of jostling elephant that come pouring in for the fresh water. The park is, indeed, known for its massive elephant populations.

In Hwange you’ll also get to partake in hands on conservation. The pump runs, as they are called, combine game viewing in remote areas of the park with practical hands-on conservation. Guests can assist their guide with day-to-day maintenance at the borehole pumps, which are the heartbeat of Hwange National Park and its wildlife.

The camp where you’ll be staying will treat you with gourmet meals under a Camelthorn tree, a banquet dinner and picnics in the bush. This is the time to enjoy the small things in life – like getting up early to watch the sun rise with strong coffee and never missing an African sunset.

The trip ends on a high note – with a charter flight that will take you over the beautiful Hwange, for views like no other and the perfect way to say goodbye to a place you’ll remember forever.

While in the Zambezi National Park, guests will stay in a tented lodge situated within the western area of the park, on the banks of the mighty Zambezi River, upstream of the Victoria Falls.

The eight luxury tents have a king-sized bed or two twins, a private splash pool and deck overlooking the river below. The main camp area includes dining room, lounge and bar with shaded outdoor deck for alfresco dining experiences.

In Hwange National Park, guests will be staying at a flagship lodge, nestled in a patch of pristine woodland just west of Ngamo on the edge of the southeastern corner of Hwange National Park. The lodge features a huge centerpiece ancient Camelthorn tree.

The forest villas are 82sqm each in size and feature sturdy stonewalls. There is an outdoor maisonette with hammocks – ideal for a siesta or a night ‘under the stars’. The large bedroom and lounge area have sliding glass doors, overhead fans and a fireplace.
