The golden grasslands of North Western Mikumi sets the stage for a wonderful concentration of mammals, birds and reptiles, whIle the impenetrable forests and mountains to the south-east border the vast Selous. The landscape is perfect for a photographic adventure.
The camps situated in Mikumi National Park provide guests with comfortable accommodation and a range of exciting activities. Enjoy exciting game drives and breathtaking scenery and guided walking tours. Expect to experience the high concentrations of game and about 400 bird species. The Mkata plains support vast herds of wildebeest, impala, zebra, giraffe hunted by their associated predators. Sightings of the African “wild dog” have been reported, seen hunting in packs.
Tented Camp consists of 16 raised tents, perched above the trees stretched over a seemingly endless wilderness, on a rocky hill on the Mkata flood plain, making this Africa safari lodge ideal for game viewing. The tented camps are raised on wooden platforms overlooking the floodplains below and the Mwanamboga waterhole. Camps feature comfortable tented accommodation, decorated in a colonial style. Each tent features an en-suite bathroom. Electricity is supplied by generator which runs from 10am to 2pm and again from 6:30pm to 11pm. Guests staying at the Tented Camp, can sit back and relax in the sparkling pool after an exciting day of game-viewing.
Safari is all about the game viewing, and this tour puts all its energy into finding the most incredible wildlife sightings. Guided walking tours are available by request.

Day 1 Dar – Mikumi – Sunset Safari
Transfer from Dar es Salaam to Mikumi by Air for a short flight flight connecting to the Mikumi National Park. Transfer from the Airstrip in 4×4 to the Tented Camp and Lunch is served. A quick swim and then off on an adventure! Enjoy a late afternoon game drive, return just in time for sunset and views of the waterhole. Guests are offered an array of special touches like Bush Breakfasts, Sundowners and Picnic lunches are served on day trips. Keep an eye out for the late night visitors to the camp, resident bush babies and honey badger.

Day 2 Full day Safari
After the breakfast plates have been cleared, you will take a guided Bush Safari. Choose between an early morning Safari and late afternoon game drive. The key to an outstanding game drive is experience, knowledge and a suitable vehicle. At Vuma Hills are vehicles are 4 wheel drive open vehicles to ensure you get maximum views. Guides are professional and experienced, English speaking.

Day 3 Morning Safari – Departure for Zanzibar
After breakfast, your Safari experience waits. Enjoy the best of the bush from your Safari 4×4 vehicle and a last few animal sightings before heading to the magical spices islands of Zanzibar.
Arrival in Zanzibar at 5pm and transfer to the Beach house in time for Dinner.
Day 4 – 6 Zanzibar at your own pace
Wake up to the sounds of the Indian Ocean and enjoy a leisurely breakfast. A team consisting of Chef, Housekeeper and host are on duty to ensure your stay is most enjoyable. Days at your leisure – a walk on the beach, sipping cocktails in the shade of a coconut tree or sun bathing. For the more adventurous try Kiting or Surfing or Mangrove SUP excursions.
Day 7 Zanzibar – Dar es Salaam
After a delicious breakfast prepared by Chef and a few sad Swahili good-byes, your transfer to the airport departs. Flight to Dar es Salaam where you will join your International Departure.
