Day Three: CAPE TOWN “THE MOTHER CITY”

Another early morning start for an exciting day to explore Cape Town City! Graffiti Art, at its very core, is illegal in its nature, and hence a visual act of defiance and revolt. Graffiti is a form of representation of South African culture, it is deeply linked to our contemporary social world – it is part of us. Come and join us through the city of creativity, street art and the “Michelangelo’s” of Cape Town.In the evening your English speaking guide will collect you from the hotel for an exciting epicurean “foodie” experience in Cape Town. If you consider yourself a “Foodie” then this experience is for you. A unique and delicious walking tour discovering Cape Town’s amazing culinary scene.

Day Four: Cape Town, Vineyards and Hermanus

Your private guide will collect you from the hotel at 08:00am for your privately guided Gourmet Vineyard experience. Sample the unique Breakfast experience at Babylonstoren which is one of the best preserved werfs/farms in the Cape Dutch tradition. Not only the Manor House from 1777, but pioneer structures all the way back to the founding of the farm in 1690.
At 11h00…it’s time for the beautiful Garden Tour. Wine Tastings at Delaire Graff Estate & Waterford Estate. Delaire Graff Estate has achieved what owner and globally renowned visionary Laurence Gaff OBE had in mind when he acquired this magnificent Cape Winelands property in 2003 and vowed to transform it into South Africa’s most desirable art, hospitality and wine destination. The Waterford Way is a philosophy that celebrates prosperity, life, food, wine, family and friends.

Day Five: HERMANUS – the home of Shark Cage Diving!

Another early morning start. An English speaking driver will collect you from the hotel to meet for the shark cage diving in Gansbaai at 07:00am (weather permitting).Great Whites are surface feeders. The shark activity takes place on or just below sea level. Full scuba gear is not required to be used for shark cage diving in the cage that is attached to the boat and no diving certification or experience is required. Your head and shoulders are above sea level until the dive master gives the call to let you know that the Great Whites are approaching. You then put your head and shoulders below sea level for the close sightings as the Great Whites swim towards and past the cage. Snorkel equipment and breath holding are the most popular options selected as the scuba gear sounds are found to be distracting for the extremely sound sensitive Great Whites. When you are not in our 5-6 man cage, refreshments are enjoyed while viewing the Great Whites and other sea life from the viewing deck. Return to the hotel for breakfast and to refresh.
In the afternoon an English speaking guide will collect you from the hotel for your Fatbike eco tour. Join us on an epic ride from De Kelders to Hermanus on a 20k ride along the beach. This is not a race so we will take our time and enjoy the scenery to the beach. Once at the beach we will enter the Walker Bay reserve then head down the 4×4 trail and along the cliff edges to the huge stretch of Die Plaat beach running from De Kelders to Hermanus. Once we are on the large stretch of beach the sand is normally firm along the waterline so riding is relatively easy. To ride on open beach for kilometres is wonderful, next to the waves rolling in and hopefully spotting the odd seal and spotting rare African Oyster Catchers. This is an eco-trip so at all times we will observe the nature from a comfortable distance and will not cause any stress on the environment or animals we come across. We will stop along the way at the stunning cave built into a rock by a local man who stayed there for up to a year! To end we will reach Grotto beach and stop for refreshments before we load up the bikes on our trailer and drive back to De Kelders. Overnight at Harbour House Hotel in a Classic room inclusive of breakfast.
