An African safari allows us humans to observe, in a moment, wild Africa being its magnificent self. A fierce lioness tends lovingly to her cubs. A rhino proudly juts his heavy horn skyward. A giraffe folds in half to drink water, her knees conking in comically. On a wildlife safari, we are granted an incredible privilege to observe everyday life on the African plains.
Why not take that experience even further into your interactions with your guides, dinners around the fireplace, and evenings in your rooms when you doze off to the sounds of the bush?
We hold a strong belief that the people behind the African safari are the key to an authentic safari experience. For this reason, we partner only with locally owned safari operators. Not only will you end up paying less, but you’ll be guided by a local ranger and tuck into food prepared by local hands. No one knows these parts better than they do.
While we can arrange stays in high-end, luxury safari lodges, our specialty is mid-range, where an African safari is still what it was originally intended to be: a chance to encounter the wild beyond the four walls of a room or the screen of a smartphone. Our tribal leaders know just where to go for thrilling predator sightings and heart-warming waterhole visits. They also know the ways of the birds, the insects, and the reptiles. And after all of this, the refreshing pool, delectable buffet, good wine, and a star-lit evening await.
We all have a role to play in letting our wilderness thrive into the future. By supporting local operators, we contribute not only to the future of our wild areas, but also their human guardians.
